Dr. Sherry Huskey Dr. Sherry Huskey is originally from Rutherfordton, NC. She grew up with a wide variety of pets and decided on a career in veterinary medicine at age 6. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from UNC-Charlotte and her DVM degree from the NC State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. From 1987 to 1989, she practiced in Montgomery Co., NC and at the same time owned and operated a hospital in Asheboro, NC. Dr. Huskey returned to Charlotte in 1989 and managed a practice for several years. After the birth of her children, she worked as an associate at a local hospital prior to purchasing Hickory Grove Animal Hospital in 2003. She lives in Matthews with her two sons. Dr. Richmond is originally from Portland, OR where she grew up surrounded by animals including dogs, cats, horses, mice, rabbits, guinea pigs, chickens and a few goats. From Portland she made her way to Colorado where she attended Colorado State University in Fort Collins for both undergraduate and veterinary school. While working on her undergraduate degree she worked in veterinary clinics as both a receptionist and technician. In veterinary school, she worked in the Clinical Pathology department and in a laboratory doing research in feline infectious diseases. After graduation she continued to make her way east and moved to Fort Myers, Fl. where she worked at a busy small animal clinic for two years. At the end of 2008, she got married and moved to Charlotte - all in the same week. After moving to Charlotte she worked at another veterinary clinic until joining Hickory Grove Animal Hospital in October of 2009. She and her husband (also a veterinarian) have three dogs and 5 cats, all adopted.
